“This weekend webinar will give participants who have already completed the EMDR basic training critical skills needed for working with clients who have Complex Trauma and/or Dissociative Disorders. Participants will learn about and practice developing their own Meeting Place/Conference Room, the most widely used technique for working with ego states and parts of self to resolve internal conflicts.

EMDR Basic Training

If you are interested in becoming an EMDR provider, I recommend choosing a basic trainer who will equip you to recognize and effectively work with dissociation, since SO many trauma survivors have this experience!

Paula Merucci from EMDR Chicago is a dynamic and engaging Basic Trainer who additionally provides a wealth of valuable information on her Resource Page, a bi-monthly email newsletter, and her social media accounts. She trains in-person in the Chicago area and virtually. (I have the privilege of collaborating with her in the Advanced Training Weekend Webinar, above.)

Cheryl Kenn of Inspired EMDR in Connecticut is a highly experienced Basic Trainer who provides small-group instruction over four 2-day training sessions, ensuring a more digestible format and individualized attention for trainees. In-person trainings are offered in CT and she also trains virtually. She teaches advanced trainings and consultation groups on working with dissociation in EMDR.

International Society for the Study of Trauma & Dissociation offers a dissociation-informed EMDR Basic Training program taught by Michael Coy and Jennifer Madere.

Institute for Creative Mindfulness has a number of EMDR Basic Training options that are dissociation-informed. ICM was founded by EMDR trainer Jamie+ Marich who has lived experience of dissociation and wrote the book Dissociation Made Simple.
